Springfield man sentenced 38-92 years for photographing nude juvenile girl, possessing child pornography

Daniel C. McIntyre, 40, of the 100 block of Erdenheim Road in the Flourtown section of Springfield Township, was sentenced to 38 to 92 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of corruption of a minor, creating child pornography and possessing child pornography in connection with incidents that occurred between 2022 and 2023, Mainline Media News reported today.

McIntyre pleaded guilty to the felony charges in November 2024.

According to the story, McIntyre’s lawyer held that his sexual abuses as a child in a Chilean orphanage and the murders of his adoptive parents led to his behavior, which included taking “unseemly photographs of an underage girl he befriended” and possessing more than 3,000 images and 100 videos of child pornography.

He was adopted at the age of seven by a Springfield Township couple, Robert McIntyre and Sheila Dolan. They were murdered by their daughter, Julia, 27, who then died by suicide inside the family’s Springfield Township home, according to testimony.

Prosecution said that he “sought out an 11-year-old girl, manipulated her into believing he was her friend while driving a wedge between her and her family and then took photographs of her in various stages of nudity, including while unconscious,” Mainline Media said, adding that McIntyre admitted to creating child pornography by taking 13 photographs of the girl in various stages of nudity when she was between 11 and 13 years old.

He will be classified as a sexually violent predator, Mainline Media said.

The investigation began in October 2022 when the mother of a 13-year-old girl reported concerns to Springfield Township police regarding her daughter’s relationship with McIntyre, who had provided the girl with a cellphone.

A search of the cellphone revealed dozens of photos of the girl in various stages of nudity, all of which were taken in the bedroom of McIntyre’s Flourtown residence. A subsequent search of McIntyre’s cellphone uncovered accounts which were used to message the 13-year-old girl as well as several child sexual abuse images of females between the ages of 3 and 13, the article said.

A search of McIntyre’s laptop computer and the computer hard drives revealed hundreds of images and videos of child sexual abuse material, including depictions of toddlers and infants.
