Spring Bagged Garden Debris, Invasive Plants Collection Begins Today

Cheltenham begins its garden debris collection program today. This is an opportunity for residents to safely discard invasive plants as well as recycle leaves, twigs, grass clippings and other garden debris by putting them in biodegradable paper bags for the collections.

Biodegradable paper bags are sold at the Township Building, libraries and community centers. Put bagged leaves on the curb prior to Fridays.

Invasive plants should be discarded with household refuse in bags and  labeled “Invasive Plants.

The Township can only accept 20 bags of invasive plants per refuse collection. State law requires that other garden debris be recycled, so Township crews will not accept them with household waste. Please consult the Invasive Plant page or resources below for more information.

Spring garden debris collection begins on March 22, 2019 and happens Fridays, except for holidays. There are no special collections on April 19, May 31, June 14, July 5 and September 7.

Please check the Collection Schedule to see what Fridays are your designated collection dates.
