The Upper Moreland Township Police Department announced this morning that several roadways are or were flooded and unsafe for travel due to the rain.
All roadways are now clear except Byberry and Pioneer roads and Masons Mill Road. The Department strongly advises drivers not to move or drive around barricades.
“Conditions are being closely monitored by UMPD and UM Public Works, and barricades will be removed when roadways are safe for travel,” the announcement said.
York Road, Mill/Warminster roads, Blair Mill Road, Bright Road, and Davisville Road by the YMCA were flooded and are now clear for travel.
A successful water rescue took place at approximately 5:19am on Monday, December 18 at Byberry Road and Pioneer Road in Lower Moreland Township.
According to Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania, a vehicle drove into fast moving water and the driver moved to the roof of the vehicle until responders performed the rescue.
Squad 11, Quint 10, Bucks Rescue 90, Medic 384, Medic 355, and Medic 352 each responded to the incident.
A dispatcher indicated barricades were down and the car drove around them.
A second water rescue took place at S. York Road and S. Warminster Road in Upper Moreland Township.
According to Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Squad 10, Squad 10-2, Squad 15, and Medic 281 responded to the incident.
A flood warning is in place in Montgomery County until 1:30pm.
