Several roads in greater Glenside to see pothole repairs next week, PECO performing pole installation/transfer in Cheltenham this week

PennDOT announced today that crews will be working on the following roads next week to repair deteriorated pavement.

  • Philmont Avenue/Red Lion Road, Lower Moreland Township.
  • Susquehanna Road, Abington and Upper Dublin townships.
  • Byberry Road, Bryn Athyn and Hatboro boroughs.
  • Edge Hill Road/Willow Grove Avenue, Springfield, Abington, and Cheltenham townships

PennDOT said the Philadelphia region experiences a high volume of potholes each season due to temperatures fluctuating between freezing and mild, known as a rapid freeze-thaw cycle.

Drivers are advised of travel restrictions and possible slowdowns during the repairs.

In related news, PECO crews will be working in the following locations in Cheltenham Township from March 3-7:

  • Installing/framing new poles and transferring primary along Old York Rd between Meetinghouse and Township Line and along Township Line Rd between Washington Ln & Old York Rd. (Flaggers present, no lane closure.)
  • Installing/framing new poles and transferring primary along Spring Ave. (Flagging, no lane closures.)
  • Transferring existing primary and secondary lines to new poles along Brookside Rd between Shoemaker Rd and Manor Rd. (Flaggers, no lane closure.)
  • Underground residential distribution work, conduit installation along St. James Place.
