Jenkintown Borough officials announced today that Washington Lane from Vernon Road to Greenwood Avenue in Abington Township will be closed from 7:00am to 5:00pm starting Monday, August 19 for the continued installation of underground stormwater crossings.

The road saw closures this week for the same multi-municipal project, which is intended to improve stormwater runoff, pedestrian safety/walkability and traffic controls at the intersection and in the general area.

The current detour will remain in place and the work should be completed next week, weather permitting, officials said. Questions regarding the road closure can be directed to Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700.
