The PGA Tour’s Truist Championship has announced that Masters champion Rory McIlroy has committed to compete in the tournament being played at The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course in Flourtown (Whitemarsh Township) from May 7-11. The tournament is one of eight Signature Events on the PGA TOUR schedule and features the Tour’s top players.
McIlroy won his first Masters title in a sudden-death playoff against Justin Rose. McIlroy’s win in Augusta completes a career Grand Slam, meaning he has won all four major championships. He joins Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods as the only players to earn that distinction. Overall, McIlroy has claimed five major championships and 29 titles on the PGA Tour.
Grounds tickets for Friday and Saturday of the tournament are sold out. Grounds tickets remain available for Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Michelob ULTRA Club tickets for Saturday are also still available. Ticket details can be found here.
