Soft Life Laundry, a new wash and fold laundry service located at 835 Glenside Avenue (Suite 206) in Wyncote, opened for business on Monday, March 9.

Owner Amber Vernay, a Mt. Airy resident, said the idea grew from her experiences with her first business: a home care agency called Partners in Compassion, which is headquartered in the same Glenside suite.

“We’ve been helping people at my home care agency with their laundry, so I decided to expand the network of people,” she said, noting that Partners in Compassion got its start through Vernay’s experiences with her own family.

“I started by taking care of my grandmother and formed my own agency from there,” she said.

Partners in Compassion has been in operation since 2022 and relocated to Glenside in September 2025. The agency specializes in personal assistance services, including housekeeping, mobility support for the disabled and seniors, “and the list goes on”, Vernay said.

Soft Life Laundry expands on those services and caters to both commercial and residential customers.

“We do pickup and drop off and we take care of your clothes just like they’re ours,” Vernay, a 10-year veteran of the retail industry, said. “We’re big on quality care, which you won’t get at a local laundromat. We don’t just do garments, we can also do linens, towels, and rugs—whatever your facility may need.”
