Rev. Brian Russo joins Grace Presbyterian Church’s ministry

Grace Presbyterian Church, 444 Old York Road, Jenkintown, welcomes Reverend Brian Russo to its ministry.

His term of employment begins Monday, January 22, and his first scheduled sermon as minister will be January 29 at 10:30am.

About Reverend Russo

A 2004 graduate of Seton Hall University, Brian switched directions and moved to Florence, Italy where he lived for six months. While studying Renaissance Art (and the influence and works of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio), Brian experienced his call-moment, and from an internet café two blocks away from the Arno River, he applied to both Union Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary and their respective Masters of Divinity programs.

Brian chose Princeton Theological Seminary and was ordained in 2018. As part of his degree path, he interned at both the Princeton Healthcare System functioning in the role of chaplain, as well as The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill (PCCH) where he worked with youth and senior adults. In 2009, he was graduated with his M.Div., whereupon he was promptly hired by PCCH serving as the Director for Youth and Senior Adult Ministry. In 2018 he was ordained and installed as the Associate Minister serving the same population, and expanded his role as a generalist; overseeing all Youth and Young Adult Programming, in addition to leading the board of Deacons and providing Pastoral Care for the congregation.

Brian is married to his wife Anya, who was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and who is a Registered Nurse with a BS in business from Temple University. She works with Accolade, a telehealth company based in Plymouth Meeting, PA. They have a son, age 6, who attends Doyle Elementary School, located in Doylestown, where the Russo’s reside.

Brian was selected by the Pastoral Nominating Committee after a thorough search of the many available candidates provided by the Philadelphia Presbytery.
