During the April 25 meeting of the Upper Dublin School Board, Nick Swaha was appointed to the position of athletic director for Upper Dublin High School. Swaha replaces Dr. Luthor Green in the position.
Swaha, 29, comes to Upper Dublin from North Pocono High School in Lackawanna County. The Times-Tribune reported on August 25 that Swaha resigned his position at North Pocono to accept the position at Upper Dublin.
He first served as an athletic director at Blue Ridge High School in Susquehanna County and earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from SUNY Cortland, as well as a master’s from Shippensburg University in organizational development and leadership.
On his LinkedIn page, Swaha wrote:
I’m really excited to share that I have just been appointed as the new Director of Athletics within the Upper Dublin School District!
I’m beyond thrilled and humbled to take on this new role and be entrusted with the awesome responsibility of continuing the amazing work happening within the districts athletic programs.
While my colors might be staying the same, I’m sure proud to call myself a Cardinal!
Swaha’s start date at Upper Dublin has not yet been established. During the same August 25 meeting, the school board voted to approve a consultant agreement with Devitt Enterprises LLC to act as the Interim Athletic Director through the end of September.
