Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, whose offices are in Glenside, shared her concerns about Elon Musk’s access to Americans’ sensitive data—including Social Security and Medicare customer payment systems—at the U.S. Treasury.
President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is led by Musk, also gained access Saturday to the USAID’s classified information, which includes intelligence reports, The Associated Press reported.
“It became apparent that its not an apple with a worm it in,” Musk said. “What we have is just a ball of worms. You’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It’s beyond repair.” “We’re shutting it down.”
“The move by DOGE, a Trump administration task force assigned to find ways to fire federal workers, cut programs and slash federal regulations, means it could have wide leeway to access important taxpayer data, among other things,” The Associated Press said.
According to the article, Musk, Tesla CEO and President Trump’s adviser, responded to a post on his social media platform X about the departure of Treasury’s acting Deputy Secretary David Lebryk’s recent resignation: “The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once.”
He did not provide proof of this claim, the AP said.

“At a time when cost of living is too high and grocery costs are up 28% over the past five years, President Trump is imposing price hikes on some of our closest trade partners,” Dean said in a post.
