Principal of Cheltenham High School resigns

In a letter addressed to Cheltenham High School families, staff and students, Cheltenham High School Principal Dr. Renato M. Lajara announced his resignation effective April 29th. He has accepted a position as an assistant superintendent with the School District of Philadelphia.

From the letter:

I will miss my students the most. The students at CHS are amazing and will always hold a special place in my heart. I will miss greeting them every morning and being able to steal hugs, handshakes and high fives. My students don’t know this, but their interactions were what got me through most days. I want parents and guardians to know I loved their children as if they were my own and always tried to make decisions in their best interest.

A successor has not yet been named.
