Plans to convert former Rockledge Pub into a corner market approved

An application to convert 7 Huntingdon Pike, the former site of the Rockledge Pub, into a corner market has been approved by Rockledge Borough’s Zoning Hearing Board.

The pub closed earlier this year. The applicant, Ahmed Darsalim, plans to lease the property.

“It is our impression that it will resemble the old school corner market for groceries, deli items, including made to order sandwiches, etc,” borough manager Bryan Poster said. “The Planning Commission and Borough Council believe that this business will be an asset to the community.”

In related news, Abby’s Auto of 612 Huntingdon Pike withdrew their Zoning Hearing request regarding the increase of their pervious surface, Poster said. The owner intended to pave the grassy lot behind the building.
