The Lower Moreland Township Police Department announced today the following upcoming road closures:
Philmont Avenue
Aqua will be closing Philmont Avenue between Red Lion Road and Pine/Tomlinson Roads in Huntingdon Valley for around-the-clock construction from now until approximately Tuesday, April 29.
During this time, access to local businesses will be maintained through Red Lion Road or Pine Road, police said.
Septa Regional Rail Work
SEPTA will be conducting railroad work between Bethayres Stations and Red Lion Road to build a new universal interlocking system through 2027 with varying degrees of construction and some nighttime and overnight work possible.
The work will mainly take place during daytime hours with some exceptions. Around-the-clock work is scheduled for the following weekends:
- May 3-4
- May 17-18
- May 31- June 1
Moreland Road
Abington Township will be conducting bridge work along Moredon Road (Lorimer Park) in their township, which will impact traffic in Lower Moreland Township. As a result, Moredon Road will be closed, and traffic will be detoured to Pine and Moreland Roads beginning April 28.
The detour will remain in effect until the project’s completion in February 2026.
