‘No Kings’ protests were backed by 500 groups with $3B in revenue, according to a Fox Digital News investigation

The “No Kings” protests that took place at 3,300 locations across all 50 states on Saturday, March 28, were supported by a network of about 500 groups with an estimated $3 billion in combined annual revenue, according to a Fox Digital News investigation

The “No Kings” website lists their partnerships, which include organizations such as Common Cause, Courage Network, Greenpeace, Moveon, The Seneca Project, and Demand Progress.

Locally, “No Kings” protests were held over the weekend in Jenkintown, Elkins ParkAbington, and Hatboro.

According to Fox Digital News’ coverage, Indivisible, a national Democratic political advocacy organization funded by billionaire George Soros, was the lead coordinator for the “flagship” march in St. Paul, Minnesota. Indivisible Greater Jenkintown (IGJ), a local chapter which has been registered with the national Indivisible since January 2025, partnered with various organizations for Saturday’s protests in Norristown, Abington Township, Jenkintown, and Philadelphia, according to their website. Among other events, IGJ organized a protest vigil for Renee Nicole Good and an “ICE Out for Good” protest in Abington Township in January.

An article published by Stateline.org claims that the protest series is “supported by national progressive groups, such as Indivisible, that solicit donations to provide training, digital tools and marketing help.” The story notes that Indivisible received in 2023 a two-year, $3 million grant from the Open Society Foundations, which was founded by Soros.

The protest series provided a “March 28 Toolkit” with instructions to recruit speakers, delegate roles, register events, and use No Kings branded media materials. It also outlines best practices for logistics and avoiding permitting and insurance requirements for event-holders.

A nonprofit called Home of the Brave said it ran a $1 million ad campaign in hundreds of newspapers nationwide to promote Saturday’s event. The organization says it supports “mobilizing Americans to peacefully stand up to Donald Trump’s authoritarianism.”

Snopes published an article in October 2025 which concludes that “Billionaires did not spend $300 million on funding the ‘No Kings’ protests” in reference to posts on X and Facebook which claim that billionaires such as Soros, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates provided nearly $300 million in total for the No Kings movement.

Instead, Snopes said, that amount represents how much money charitable groups, such as the American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood, have given to organizations supporting No Kings.

“No Kings” spokeswoman Eunic Epstein-Ortiz said the movement is not an organization or a formal entity that can accept donations.

“It is a coalition of over 270+ partners and a decentralized movement driven by volunteers and activists across the country. Organizations support the No Kings coalition by providing training, toolkits and limited resources, but the vast majority of events are organized, promoted and funded locally by grassroots volunteers,” she told Snopes.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said in a statement, “The only people who care about these Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions are the reporters who are paid to cover them.”
