Nifty Fifty’s Abington announces 2024 grand opening

Nifty Fifty’s seems to have reached the finish line. Franchisee Chan Nuth will open his doors to family and friends for a January 6 soft opening, followed by a grand opening to the public on January 8.

Construction is nearly finished and will be completed by Christmas, but Nuth thought it best to wait until after the holidays.

Progress has been slow and steady. The retro restaurant was initially expected to open in September. Thanksgiving was the next anticipated timeframe, and that came and went. All the while, hiring fairs and plenty of work on the interior and exterior of the property have been going strong.

A Facebook page and an online store are up and running, and the building at 1140 Old York Road in Abington Township has seen noticeable progress since the restaurant broke ground this summer.

“We’ll have everything ready before Christmas. I’ve trained 20+ staff already, and more are being trained right now,” Nuth said. “Everything will be okay after the New Year.”
