NariYella of Elkins Park gets ‘four-chair turn’ for Tuesday’s ‘The Voice’ audition

NariYella, a resident of Elkins Park, auditioned for the 2023 season of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ on Tuesday, March 21.

The 20-year-old singer performed “One Night Only” from Dreamgirls and received a ‘four-chair turn,’ a gesture of unanimous approval from all four judges: Chance the Rapper, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Niall Horan.

Chance said that he was “blown away” by the performance, and Clarkson noted how comfortable and confident she seemed on stage.

“It’s actually shocking how powerful you are,” Shelton said. “Anyone who can be that open and connected to the moment, those are the artists that make it all the way.”

“That kind of passion is what it takes to win a show like this,” Clarkson said.

NariYella released singles “What You Like” and “Talk 2 Much” in 2022. She was also featured on the Nico Bryant single “Honeymoon Phase Forever,” which was released last year. She is currently a student at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
