Hatboro approves initial plans for the construction of four townhomes on vacant Stony Brook Condos property

Hatboro officials announced that the Planning Commission approved on Tuesday, August 12 a Minor Land Development Plan for the construction of four townhomes at 333 N York Road.

According to borough manager Diane Hegele, the location is part of the Stony Brook Condos, which has been vacant for years after a former commercial office shut down.

In January, Home Changers received approval from the Zoning Hearing Board for residential use. Previous potential suitors for the property have included a methadone clinic.

“A few years back a firm came before council to open a methadone clinic, but it was opposed by many in the community as well as the HOA so they withdrew their application,” Hegele told Glenside Local.

The developer will appear before Borough Council for approval at an undetermined date.

“They have some comments to address on their plans before going to council for final approval to build.  I would assume they will be ready for council in September,” Hegele said.
