Mr. Sun, Taiwanese boba tea shop, coming soon to Willow Grove

Mr. Sun, a Taiwanese boba tea shop, is expecting to open at 101 E Moreland Road in the Moreland Plaza of Willow Grove by late September or early October.

Carl Chung, the shop’s franchisee, told us that this will be the first location on the East Coast. The chain lays claim to over 300 locations in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, in addition to six locations in California and four in Canada.

“We offer unique tea drinks with freshly handmade fruit bobas and our shop will be equipped with special boba-making machines,” Chung said. “Bobas are freshly made in-house by trained chefs. We ensure that the entire boba-making process remains transparent and that only fresh ingredients are used and no preservatives are added.”

Chung noted that because bobas are made on-site, the shop will offer daily flavors that other boba shops do not, such as strawberry and mango. Special weekend flavors include matcha, blueberry, peach, passionfruit, kiwi, and more.

Mr. Sun says it guarantees no chemical preservatives, tea powder, spices, or artificial sweeteners, and uses organic cane sugar imported from Taiwan.
