Mr. Francis B. “Frank” Hood III, a Glenside native, 1989 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, and founder/owner of Hood Masonry & Restoration in Abington Township, passed away in his home on Saturday, September 13. He was 54.
A graduate of West Chester University, Mr. Hood was a father to three and worked at O’Neill’s Food Market before opening his own business, his obituary said.
“His final job as a warehouse manager at Stevenson Seeley supported him through his last years during his health battles,” his obituary said.
It continues:
If you knew Frank, you understood his big beard hid an even bigger heart. He was sharp, funny, and always quick with a joke, but beneath it all was a deeply caring, loyal, and gentle soul. He didn’t need much to be happy—family, friends, and good times were what he cherished most. He lived his life simply but fully, and he left behind a legacy of laughter, love, and memories that will never fade. While his life here on earth seemed too short to all those who loved him, we are grateful for every minute we got to spend with him. He was truly one of a kind.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday, September 21 from 5:00-8:00 PM at William R. May Funeral Home, 354 N. Easton Rd. (at Keswick Ave.), Glenside, PA 19038.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, September 22 at 12:00 PM at Queen of Peace Church, 820 N. Hills Ave., Ardsley, where another visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM. His interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation – www.takeabreakfromcancer.org.
