The three-member Montgomery County Board of Elections met on Monday to certify the results of the 2023 primary election.
Jamila Winder and Neil Makhija won the Democratic side with 54,744 votes and 38,458 votes, respectively.
On the Republican ticket, Commissioner Joe Gale lost to Tom DiBello and Liz Ferry, who received 21,076, 31,006 and 28,657, respectively.

Montgomery County experienced a 23.91 percent voter turnout rate during the primary election. Of the 143,435 ballots cast, 91,052 votes were done in person on Election Day, and 53,091 absentee and mail-in ballots were returned, according to findings from the county’s Election Summary Report.
The Montgomery County Commissioners race was one of the most watched of the 2023 election season. Eight candidates, five Democrats and three Republicans, vied for spots on the board.
The top two candidates from each party will be on the ballot for the November general election scheduled for November 7.
