Mike Cogbill of Germantown is slated to be the only Democratic challenger on the ballot in the Eastern Montgomery County portion of Pennsylvania’s 4th Senatorial District which serves Abington, Jenkintown, Glenside, and Cheltenham.
“Democracy is not a coronation; it is a competition of ideas. Right now, I am the only other option on the ballot for those who believe we deserve better than the status quo,” Cogbill said in a statement. “From Germantown Avenue to the boroughs of Montco, neighbors are tired of ‘business as usual.’ I am ready to do the work – not as a politician, but as a professional organizer who knows how to deliver.”
Cogbill has formerly served as the organizer and political director for the Philly AFL-CIO, lead organizer with CeasefirePA, regional director for voter protection with the PA Democratic Party, election protection organizer with Common Cause, PA State Coordinator for the NAACP,
“This moment in history is critical and we need leaders who are willing to work 24-7 to fight for Pennsylvania. I’ve beaten Donald Trump, I’ve found vaccines and I’ve walked families into eviction court and found the helpers when the system failed them,” Cogbill said. “On May 19th, I’m asking voters to choose a servant, not a king. I am ready to light the way.”
