Mikal Scott, 21, of Cheltenham sentenced 3-6 years for gun trafficking scheme

Mikal Scott, 21, of the 7900 block of Rolling Green Road in Cheltenham Township, recently pleaded guilty to charges involving his participation in a gun trafficking organization that operated in Montgomery, Bucks and Philadelphia counties between March and August of 2020.

The 14-person organization, five of whom were juveniles at the time, illegally obtained and sold 44 firearms using straw purchase schemes. Only 12 of the 44 firearms had been recovered, officials said.

Scott was arrested in September 2020 and sentenced on June 13, 2023 to 3 to 6 years in state prison beginning July 3.
