The Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation elected Peter R. Widener, the 3rd great-grandson of Lynnewood Hall’s original owner, Peter A.B. Widener, as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors in November.
Widener was introduced to stakeholders last week at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. From the Foundation’s Facebook post:
The Racquet Club of Philadelphia’s current club house was constructed in 1907 by Horace Trumbauer, the same architect who designed Lynnewood Hall. It was because of the Widener’s involvement with the club that Trumbauer was given the commission.

Widener lives on a ranch with his wife Maggie, and three sons, according to the Foundation.
