Sean McDermott, a 1993 graduate of La Salle College High School (Wyndmoor), has been let go as the Buffalo Bills’ head coach, ESPN reported.
The Bills’ 2026 playoff run ended in the AFC Divisional Round with a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos on January 17. It was the fourth time in five seasons that the Bills exited in the divisional round.
McDermott was hired in 2017 as the Bills’ head coach and assumed defensive coordinator duties in 2023. He leaves Buffalo with a 98-50 overall record, 8-8 in the postseason.
ESPN said that he intends to continue coaching and could be a head coaching candidate for other NFL teams. For more on McDermott, you can read the Bills’ biography of his career here.
