La Salle College High hosts inaugural Girls Flag Football Jamboree led by NFL standout, 2014 alum

La Salle College High School (Wyndmoor/Springfield Township) hosted the inaugural Girls Flag Football Jamboree led by NFL Indianapolis Colts linebacker and 2014 graduate Zaire Franklin on Saturday, June 7.

The event supports Shelice’s Angels, a nonprofit Franklin founded in honor of his late mother, Shelice Highsmith, to empower young women through mentorship, education, and leadership development. Coaches, athletes, and members of the USA Football Women’s Flag National Team assisted with the event.

Franklin was named an NFL Global Flag Football Ambassador this year.

“As an NFL Global Flag Football Ambassador, Zaire is passionate about promoting the sport’s growth and accessibility,” the school said in a post. “His dedication was evident as he engaged with participants, fostering both athletic skills and community spirit – and invited the Eagles Devonta Smith and @usaflagfb players on campus to provide coaching and inspiration to the 100+ young women in attendance.”
