Joy Movement Arts, a yoga, fitness and wellness studio, now open in Wyncote Commons

Joy Movement Arts, a yoga, fitness and wellness studio, officially opened on Monday, April 22 at 827 Glenside Avenue, Unit C-1 in Wyncote.

Classes began on April 1 at Jenkintown Dance Arts’ new facility until the space’s new paint and flooring were ready.

Director/owner Chrissie Leech, known as “Miss Chrissie” to her students, has effectively inherited the former Amma Yanni Yoga Center and School from Bridget Yanni.

“I was teaching and Bridget stopped by my studio and told me she was thinking about closing. She asked if I wanted to move yoga classes into my studio,” Miss Chrissie said. “The more I thought about it, it was going to be second fiddle to everything dance.”

“Her community seemed like it really wanted to keep going, so I thought it could thrive again,” she said.

Joy Movement Arts will keep all of Amma Yanni’s teachers.

“My hope is to help grow it and bring it back so that I can add new teachers and classes. It seems like the perfect place to add some adult classes. I’m really excited to coordinate the schedule between the two studios so that parents and kids will be synched up,” Miss Chrissie said.

New students can claim the following introductory offer:
