Jenkintown’s Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz now a climate change consultant for environmental engineering company

Jenkintown resident Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz was recently featured in The Philadelphia Inquirer for his latest gig: climate change consultant at NYC-based AKRF, an environmental engineering and consulting firm.

Schwartz is tasked with breaking down how climate change could transform communities and how projects emerging in these vulnerable communities could be prepared.

The longtime meteorologist for NBC10 has a new audience: engineers working on projects who need to weather the storms, floods, and other manifestations of climate change.

A 2010 inductee into the Philadelphia Broadcast Hall of Fame, Schwartz retired in 2022 after 27 years reporting the weather for the Philadelphia area.
