Jenkintown Borough’s Recreation Board will host its annual “Pumpkin Drop” at Town Square on Sunday, November 3, at 2:30pm.

From the announcement: 

Bring your used jack-o-lanterns to Town Square and watch them be hoisted up 105 feet in the air by a firetruck ladder in the Borough’s Pumpkin Drop Cage — the only one known to exist in the world. At maximum altitude the trap door opens and the pumpkins crash to the pavement below.

The destroyed pumpkins, and any others brought to the square, will be composted courtesy of Jenkintown’s Public Works Department.
