Jenkintown residents to receive new free recycle bins

Beginning Monday, October 18th, each Jenkintown resident with a solid waste account will receive a new recycling tote 100% free of charge. The new receptacles will be delivered curbside.

There are a total of 1300 totes that need to be assembled and delivered so the parking lot of Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed through Wednesday.

Jenkintown residents are being advised not to dispose of their current recycling bins at this time as arrangements are currently being finalized with Republic Services for a convenient centralized disposal point within the Borough. This information should be available by early next week and more than likely will be at the Borough Hall parking lot.

Residents can continue to use their current receptacle if they wish and if so, should call Borough Hall and Public Works at 215-885-0700 to make sure the new bin isn’t delivered.
