Jenkintown man arrested for home invasion and homicide in Lower Merion to face arraignment in February

Charles Fulforth, 41, of the Jenkintown section of Abington Township, was held for trial after a preliminary hearing before a District Court Judge, Mainline Media News reported.

Fulforth and 42-year-old Kelvin Roberts of Philadelphia, each of whom is charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of a 61-year-old Lower Merion woman and her 25-year-old son in December, are being held without bail and face a formal arraignment hearing in county court on February 19. After that hearing, a judge will set a trial date for them.

Prosecutors previously said the motive in the incident was to steal guns and that Roberts and Fulforth went to the wrong house.

“This male shot her without provocation while she was lying in her bed resulting in her becoming instantly paralyzed. Gaudio stated that her son entered her bedroom to check on her when he was shot and killed. Gaudio stated she heard her son dying on the floor,” county Detective John Wittenberger and Lower Merion Detective James Black alleged.

Fulforth and Roberts each have extensive criminal histories, including serving time in county jail and state prison, Mainline Media News said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Roberts on December 9. You can read our previous coverage of the incident here and here.
