Jenkintown Food Cupboard gets help from Rydal Elementary, CycleBar, O’Neills Food Market

The Jenkintown Food Cupboard, 328 Summit Avenue, is a community-focused food insecurity organization led by Executive Director Nickelino “Lino” Ellis.

As the Cupboard has come upon on its busiest time of year, it’s been getting a little help from local outlets.

Rydal Elementary School East collected and donated 2,030 lbs of food through a week-long drive. According to Ellis, this weight translates to the Share Food Program’s donations for the entire month of January, and enough food to fill a week’s-worth of grocery orders for over 200 people.

Abington’s CycleBar extended their partnership with JFC and donated 157 lbs of food along with some games.

O’Neill’s Food Market in Glenside extended their partnership with JFC as well, and donated 115 lbs of non-perishables. Owner Mike donated cases of cranberry jelly, broth, stuffing mix, and canned green beans to supplement customer donations.
