Jenkintown councilwoman Dr. Kim McGlonn’s new thrift shop highlighted by Philly Voice

Dr. Kim McGlonn, a resident and longtime member of Jenkintown Borough’s council, recently opened a thrift store in Philly called Black Ivy Thrift.

The opening caught the attention of Philly Voice, which published an article about the store’s deeper significance for McGlonn.

This isn’t her first crack at fashion with a message: In 2017, Dr. McGlonn founded Philly-based Grant Blvd, a sustainable clothing company that supports those impacted by the criminal justice system. In 2021, Grant Blvd was awardedBeyGood grant by Beyonce and the NAACP.

Black Ivy Thrift is located at 3605 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia. The store’s website can be found here.
