The Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring the Borough’s annual 4th of July parade and celebration this year.
The parade will kick off at 10:00am and feature local fire trucks, a color guard, bands, decorated bikes for children, and various community service groups, including The Boys Scouts and J.Y.A.
This year’s parade route will begin on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue and proceed to Hillside Avenue, Walnut Street, West Avenue and end at Town Square.
Prizes will be awarded at Town Square for a “Best Decorated Bikes” contest. This year’s awards will be divided into three categories: Strollers & Wagons, Tricycles, and Bikes.
The event will also feature games for all ages, including a “Peanut Scramble,” “Egg Toss,” and more. The Borough’s firefighters will be serving hot dogs and cold beverages at the Pioneer Fire Company at the conclusion of the parade.
