Jefferson Abington’s new GI Suite named in honor of longtime president/gastroenterologist

Jefferson Abington Hospital hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Dr. Harvey Guttmann GI Procedure Suite on June 25.

The suite has been named in honor of Dr. Guttmann who joined the hospital in 1984 and served as Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and as president of Jefferson Abington Hospital Medical Staff. The ribbon-cutting included tours of the new suite and remarks from Dr. Guttmann, hospital leadership, and donors.

“Dr. Guttmann has been a beloved physician, colleague and mentor. The new suite features larger clinical rooms and the latest cutting-edge technology needed to perform complex procedures, endoscopic ultrasound, biopsies, and more,” Abington Hospital said in a statement.
