Jefferson Abington Hospital’s ECMO team saved new mother’s life

The ECMO* team at Jefferson Abington Hospital was recently highlighted in a 6ABC News story about Jenna Gresko, who says the team saved her life after she gave birth to her first son, James.

Gresko, a registered nurse at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, had an unpredictable and life-threatening condition called amniotic fluid embolism during her delivery. According to 6ABC, Abington’s “ECMO team had just finished training on emergency scenarios in a multidisciplinary simulation drill.”

Gresko’s son is about 8 months old, and Jenna is sharing the story to raise awareness and to thank the doctors and nurses who came to her rescue.
