Four hundred Penn State Abington students moved into the Lions Gate student residence hall today. The students, who are primarily in their first year, received assistance from faculty, staff, and current students from the Penn State Abington campus. Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 26. 

The apartments, located at 1001 Old York Road in Abington, are located in the heart of Abington Township so students can easily walk and bike to classes, stores, and restaurants. It’s also convenient to public transportation. 

The Lions Gate, a four-story $50 million complex, opened in 2017. Four to six students live in each apartment-style unit, each equipped with a kitchen and private bathroom. In addition to live-in professional staff, highly trained resident assistants live in the residence hall. The College offers a shuttle service between the residence hall and campus.
