Huntingdon Valley Sunoco to present plans for conversion of former auto shop into larger convenience store space

Lower Moreland Township will discuss plans for the conversion of a former auto body shop at 3475 Huntingdon Pike into a larger version of an existing convenience store during a Zoning Hearing on Thursday, October 17 at 7:00pm at the municipal building in Huntingdon Valley.

The application is a continuation from a previous proposal, according to the township’s notice.

“The area where the mechanic’s shop used to be still has three garages. Now they’re trying to make it bigger. It’ll have a coffee station, hot dogs, things of that nature,” a Sunoco employee told Glenside Local in August.

Plans also call for the addition of a 55 sf vestibule and an allowance of 24 parking spaces instead of the required 28.

The Sunoco convenience store currently offers “basic snacks”, according to the employee.

From the meeting’s agenda:

The application of 3475 HP LLC, 3475 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 who seeks relief from the terms of the Zoning Ordinance of Lower Moreland Township to convert an auto shop to a convenience store and add a 55 square foot vestibule with a less parking spaces than required.
