Christopher P. Kowalewski, 40, of the 4100 block of Shoemaker Road in Huntingdon Valley, was recently sentenced to 9-23 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kowalewski caused a two-vehicle crash at Byberry Road and Walsh Lane in Lower Moreland on December 8, 2022. According to The Mercury, the crash seriously injured a female driver who was treated for a fractured sternum and other injuries.

Kowalewski will begin serving the sentence on January 11 and was ordered to complete four years’ probation following parole.

Investigators said Kowalewski’s blood alcohol content was 0.278% at the time of the crash, which was more than three times the legal limit of 0.08%, The Mercury said.
