Brad Sorkin, executive director of the Huntingdon Valley Athletics Association (HVAA), was inducted into the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame on Saturday.
The club described Sorkin’s induction as “a well-deserved honor recognizing decades of leadership, dedication, and passion for the game. Brad’s impact on HVAA and the soccer community has helped shape countless players, coaches, and families throughout the years.”
From his biography:
Brad Sorkin has been a dedicated coach and board member at HVAA for over 20 years. A Huntingdon Valley native and 1987 graduate of Lower Moreland High School, Brad went on to play collegiate football as a standout placekicker at Widener University. After returning home in 2004, he quickly got to work revitalizing HVAA’s travel soccer program—and he hasn’t stopped since. Over the years, Brad has held multiple leadership positions on the HVAA Board of Directors, including a three-year term as President. He also coached at Lower Moreland High School from 2011 to 2014 and holds a USYS “D” License and Youth Module certification. Recognized for his coaching excellence, Brad was named EPYSA’s Girls Travel Coach of the Year in 2015. Brad currently leads HVAA’s powerhouse women’s team, which has captured three consecutive USL Major Division Championships under his leadership. Beyond his work on the field, he operates the widely popular VCP High School Summer League he founded, serves on the Board of Directors for ICSL, and is a licensed U.S. Soccer referee and referee assignor. Brad’s commitment to HVAA runs deep. Every decision he makes is guided by one clear principle: HVAA first, always. His leadership, passion, and pride continue to shape the culture and future of our club.
The club also shared that it was recognized as the SEPA Club of the Year.
“This award reflects the hard work of our players, coaches, families, volunteers, and community who continue to make HVAA such a special place,” their post said. “From our youngest in-house players to our highest-level teams, this recognition belongs to everyone who wears the HVAA badge with pride.”
