Holocaust survivor Rita Ross speaks to Abington HS students about memories from 1940s Austria, Poland, and POW camp

Holocaust survivor Rita Ross recently spoke to students to Abington Senior High School students about her memories from 1940s Austria, Poland, and a POW camp.

Ross is the author of “Journey to Happily Ever After,” which can be found on Amazon.com here.

On Monday morning students from Mrs. Roher’s & Mr. Penderghest’s Holocaust, Genocide & Crimes Against Humanity classes were joined by students from the Jewish Student Union to listen to Holocaust survivor, Mrs. Rita Ross. Mrs. Ross was born in Vienna, Austria in 1936 two years prior to the Nazi annexation of her home country. Mrs. Ross shared her memories from leaving Austria, traveling to Poland, and ultimately ending up in a POW camp prior to coming to the United States in 1945. Mrs. Ross is the author of Journey to Happily Ever After which is a detailed biography of her experiences during the Holocaust and her life after arriving in the United States.
