Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center of Elkins Park, Rep. Dean mourn the passing of Rob and Michelle Reiner

Representative Madeleine Dean of Glenside and the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center (HAMEC) in Elkins Park (Cheltenham Township) each shared condolences on the recent passing of legendary Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle.

According to CNN, the Reiners were found slain in their Brentwood home Sunday. Their son, Nick, is a suspect and was reportedly seen having an argument with his father at a holiday party Saturday at Conan O’Brien’s home.

From HAMEC’s post:

HAMEC is saddened to hear of the passing of Director and actor Rob Reiner. Rob Reiner visited HAMEC in 2008 and met with Chuck Feldman who shared that Rob appreciated the museum and mission. Chuck said Rob was friendly, spirited and exchanged some laughs and jokes. May Rob Reiner’s memory and his wife Michele’s memory be a blessing.

From Dean’s post:

Aren’t we all devastated at the loss of Rob and Michele Reiner — champions of human decency who never wavered in their belief that we must do better.

Rob Reiner was a man of extraordinary fun and talent and joy. Yet above all, he was a man who understood that what we do with our lives is all about character and the common good.

We are all lucky to have shared part of our own lives with Rob and Michele Reiner — and his father Carl before him. Generations of talent. Through their television, films, acting, and advocacy. With the laughter they always inspired, they made us feel like we belong.

My family and I were lucky to meet Rob and Michele in 2018 when they opened their home to host a book release party for my son Pat. Their warmth — their inviting generosity of spirit — was evident in every part of their home and their lives. For a moment, as they lifted our son Pat’s work, they shared their passion for good through humor and friendship.

My prayers are with the Reiner family during this extraordinarily difficult time.

May God bless Rob and Michele Reiner; may their memories be a blessing.
