Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center in Elkins Park opens nominations for Educator of the Year Award

The Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center (HAMEC) in Elkins Park (Cheltenham Township) announced today that nominations for their Educator of the Year Award are now open.

“HAMEC is looking to honor an educator who demonstrates excellence in teaching the Holocaust and shows a clear, measurable impact on students’ understanding—especially of the real-world consequences of racism, ethnic cleansing, and intolerance,” their post said.

Nominations can be made on behalf of middle and high school Holocaust educators in local area school districts. Honorees (plus a guest) will be recognized at the HAMEC Gala Awards Dinner on Sunday, November 15.

The deadline for submissions is June 6, 2026. To nominate and for more information, you can click here.
