James Beard-nominated chef Dionicio Jiménez and Mariangeli Alicea Saez, owners of the Mexican-style restaurant Cantina La Martina in Philadelphia, are taking over the food side of Human Robot location, effective New Year’s Day.

The new menu includes tacos, enchiladas, tortas, burritos, nachos, a birria burger, wings, ribs, and Cantina’s signature Señor Machete, a 24-inch corn quesadilla filled with a choice of protein and served with salsas.

Human Robot Jenkintown’s food has been handled by Herman’s at the Haus since 2022. Ownership posted the following on Friday:

When we opened the doors of the Haus in 2022, not only did Jon and Angel present a German-inspired pub menu that paired well with our lagerbiers and hoppy ales, but an initiative to grow and be a part of a beautiful community, something we both prioritize in our day to day operations. In the near three years of their efforts, they’ve done an outstanding job providing a comforting meal and being a presence of joy for many in the neighborhood. It would be impossible for us to be where we are without the Herman’s front/back of the house crews, and we are grateful for their presence. A huge thank you goes out to the entire Herman’s staff for what they do every day here.

As the new year approaches quickly, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Herman’s will no longer be with us come 2025.

As they’ve grown professionally, they’ve also grown in their own personal lives. We are so proud to have seen said growth personally and professionally and been a part of their journey. It’s been a pleasure working side by side with them!

We will have a new kitchen partner entering into the new year, details to come soon! In the meantime, get on over to enjoy some schnitzel, bring your family for brunch, chug a few milktubes with Angel and Jon. We’ve got until the end of the month to hang with the Herman’s crew!
