Haven Local, a popular eatery within Creekside Market and Tap’s building in Elkins Park (7909 High School Road), will be permanently closing on Saturday, December 21.
Owner and chef Tam Fuard said the store will be open from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday, and that Haven Local “will continue to offer private chef services in the new year and watch out for our interactive supper club taking flight in the spring. More to follow in the coming months.”

Fuard published the following announcement on Facebook:
Today, I have the solemn job of announcing, that my little storefront in Elkins Park will be closing its doors to the public for good. I’ve been so lucky to have spent the past 3 years feeding this neighborhood and beyond; To the people who have helped shape this place, my family, the cooks, servers, dishwashers, photographers, filmmakers, journalists, vendors, farmers and of course our customers, most of whom have become great friends at this point! I thank you all for your continued love & support on this project.
I think I’ve pushed harder and grown more than ever, not just as a cook & entrepreneur, but as a person. I hope that has come across in how we have delivered the high standards set at Haven Local. From Curried Soba Broth to that infamous Fried Chicken Sandwich, I believe we’ve fed and nourished you all incredibly well.
I wish nothing but success to the other wonderful businesses on High School Rd and any future ones coming in to cultivate this amazing business corridor. I truly believe it has so much amazing potential. But for me it’s time to move on to greener pastures.
It’s a heartfelt farewell from my family to this community and you have our eternal gratitude for giving us some of the best memories over the course of this experience. We wish you a very happy holiday.
As always I look forward to feeding you.
Tam Fuard
Chef & Owner
