Hatboro Borough announced today that it has been awarded a 2025 PECO Green Region Open Space grant.
Hatboro is one of 20 municipalities selected for this funding, which includes $7,500 to install energy efficient LED lighting at the Pennypack Community Center.
“This project will help reduce facility’s carbon footprint through removing old, inefficient lighting and lower energy consumption within the building,” officials said in a post, noting that the borough signed onto the Montgomery County Sierra Club’s Ready For 100 movement in 2020 which pledged to move its buildings, facilities, and vehicles to 100% green energy by 2035.
