Glenside’s ‘Chef Kess’ wins national award for hosting TV show about veganism

Kurt “Chef Kess” of Glenside is among a number of Philadelphians who received national awards for their radio and television work with PhillyCAM, a community media center which airs on public access TV and WPPM 106.5FM.

The Alliance for Community Media’s 2024 Hometown Media Awards took place on June 26 in San Jose, California.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Tim Millaway and PhillyCAM,” said Chef Kess. “It means a lot to have the tools to bring the Green Squad to life. I thank the Green Squad for their hard work, I look forward to producing more plant-based entertainment and education.”

Kess’ show, titled the Green Squadis an information program that teaches the delights and benefits of eating vegan in an entertaining way. It airs Thursdays at 7:00pm.
