Glenside native Ted Silary, beloved Philly sportswriter, has died at 72

Theodore “Ted” Silary, Jr., 72, a Glenside native and longtime sportswriter for The Philadelphia Daily News, The Philadelphia Bulletin, and Montgomery Publishing Co., died on Thursday, May 18, of sepsis.

Silary was the leading voice in high school sports in Philadelphia for decades. He later managed his own website,
