Glenside native Kathleen Fry was recently featured by The Irish Star for her decision to move to Ireland at the age of 67.
According to the article, she was “spiritually led” there after visiting Ireland for the first time in 2015 and discovering relatives who “she was keen to reconnect with.”
“I’d been thinking about it for a long time but I’ve finally got to an age where I have more freedom,” Kathleen said. “I remember being very curious about my heritage even as a young girl. I would ask the questions but my parents wouldn’t tell me much, and then every time I came to Ireland as an adult, it just never felt like enough time.”
Kathleen’s father came to Philadelphia from Ireland in the late 1940s.
