Glenside Fire Company contains fire at Towers at Wyncote, cause under investigation

The Glenside Fire Company announced today that their units and mutual aid companies responded to a fire in building two of the Towers at Wyncote on Friday, August 30 at approximately 5:50pm.

The fire took place in a kitchen on the building’s 10th floor and was contained after more than three hours. Several other units sustained smoke and water damage, fire officials said. One cat was rescued.

“First arriving crews from Engine 1 and Ladder 400 stretched attack lines from the standpipe on the 9th floor and made an aggressive attack on an advanced kitchen fire while conducting a primary search of the apartment,” the company said in a post.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
