Today the Glenside Fire Company celebrated its 123rd anniversary and welcomed its newest member: Student Achievement Award-winning Sarah Devereaux.

Last night, GFC’s newest qualified firefighter graduated from Firefighter 1. Sarah Devereaux not only passed the 200-hour class, but did it in style by receiving the Student Achievement Award! Congratulations Sarah! You deserved it.

Glenside FC also celebrated its 123rd year of existence, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of its first custom-built piece of equipment, a 1923 Seagrave pumper.

Today, May 17, we celebrate the 123d Birthday of the Glenside Fire Company, this year coincides with the 100th anniversary of the delivery of the first custom built piece of apparatus for the company, a 1923 Seagrave pumper. The previous two motorized vehicles were built mostly by the company on commercial truck chassis. The truck was officially housed on May 12th with a large parade and other events. The company would like to thank the Glenside community for all the support rendered to their all volunteer fire company!
